For the past fews I have been inspired to create collage work, usually I cut up old newspapers and magazines to create beautiful image with colour however more recently and after reading a book on dadaism I thought I would experiment with photo montage. My work doesn’t have any political meanings or hidden messages it is more of a personal project. Using photographs that I have taken from all the places I have visited, including back packing in Thailand, partying in Ibiza, romantic trip to Rome and many more, mixed them all up to create fun, unusual images. It maybe that only the people who have a connection with the images will appreciate them but I certainly think it is a far more interesting and creative way to display my holiday photos.

During the half term break I travelled to Leicester print workshop and spent a wonderfully peaceful day preparing some new prints for a future exhibition that will be held in Lincoln. I experimented with colour, taking inspiration from illustrated bird watching books I picked up at the library, mixing purples, whites and browns to create the background and choosing 3 bold key colours that would stand out against the black. Below are some of the days successes, more information and details to follow regarding the Lincoln exhibition.
Interactive design is becoming a hugh part of my life at the moment, my boyfriend, brother and friends are all amongst the designers who are experimenting with digital design and its very difficult not to get involved as it is so interesting and exciting! So when we heard their was an interactive design exhibition being held in one the best venues in England we had to take a visit. The 6am start was well worth it, below are my highlights from the exhibition.

Ross Philips – Videogrid
Mehmet Akten – Body Paint

Julius Popp – 0.bit.code
‘bit.code is a visualisation of information taken from the internet. The spinning chains represent the rapid nature of data as it moves through internet networks.’

Daniel Rozin – Weave Mirror
rAndom International – Audience
‘Audience consists of 64 motorised mirrors. When you pass the installation, a camera within the space may detect your presence. Once it does so, the mirrors turn to reflect your gaze.’
